Rema UK
Rema UK was awarded charitable status in 2007, registered charity number 1118650. This means that donations can be increased through Gift Aid.
The role of Rema UK is to co-ordinate support for Rema Ministries and to distribute news and stories from Rema about how lives are being changed through their work and our support. We aim to do this in 3 main ways:
1. Prayer 2. Practical and financial support and encouragement through friendship 3. Resource and offer guidance for the Rema team
Rema UK Trustees
Chair: Sally Botteley
Sally met Francois when she was leading a youth team to Burundi in 1993, just before the more recent troubles began in Burundi. Since then, the partnership has grown, and Rema Ministries and now Rema UK have been born from it. One of Sally’s major roles has been to form links between Burundi and the UK with regular visits to East Africa. Sally has experience working with other charities in Africa and the UK. In the UK she works for local government.
Secretary: Steve Eyre
Steve’s family has been supporting Theodore since he stayed with them at Christmas 2002, and Steve is also a trustee of a local charity in Thame, Oxon which is supporting projects in East and West Africa, and in Calcutta, India. He first met the Rema team in Nairobi in August 2005.
John Creber
Through links with Sutton Coldfield Baptist Church John has become friends with the Rema team and uses his experience with other charities to help guide Rema UK. John is now retired from work for local government.
Phil Cole
Phil went to East Africa co-leading a team with Sally from the UK to work in partnership with Rema in 2005. Phil is currently working as a Health and Safety Consultant.
Pete Creber
Pete has been to East Africa on a couple of occasions to join in partnership with Rema. He is currently a hospital doctor.
